Berita yang mengejutkan. yaa itulah yang terjadi di kehidupan saya beberapa minggu kebelakang. ada apa emang ?

gini ceritanya.

ketika baru bangun tidur, saya langsung menyalakan komputer, browsing browsing, nyalain YM, tweetdeck, dan kawan kawan. Terus tiba tiba, di YM, teman saya Fanny, ngechat dengan memberikan kabar begini : Portnoy leave DT and joined a7x.

hee ? what the fuck ? itu lah kira kira respon saya. gak bermaksud lebay, tapi kaget juga. terus pas cek timeline nya @MikePortnoyDT ternyata benar ! dia nulis klarifikasi (ini link nya http://www.facebook.com/notes/mike-portnoy/mike-portnoy-leaves-dream-theater/137362372974878) bahwa dia berhenti dari Dream Theater dan menjadi drummer Avenged Sevenfold untuk sementara. anjeeeeeeeeeeeeenggggggg……. turun kelas !! itulah kalimat yang pertama kali muncul dalam otak saya.

sampe sekarang kalo baca notes nya juga saya masih nyesek gimanaaaa gitu..

haha, terdengar lebay yah ? tapi mau gimana lagi, saya emang ngefans banget sama band yang satu ini. dan berhubung saya main drum juga, gak mungkin kalo saya gak bilang saya gak ngefans ama Portnoy.

saya benar2 menyayangkan keputusan Portnoy keluar dari band yang udah 25 tahun dia urus, udah kayak anaknya aja. tapi bisa bilang apa lagi selain ‘good luck mike !’ ini khan hidupnya dia ? saya mah cuma fansnya aja.

yah, ya sudah lah, yang sudah lewat ya bagaimana lagi.

tapi ngomong ngomong saya juga penasaran, siapa yah pengganti dia ? setau saya, jarang banget ada drummer yang gaya mainnya mirip sama Mike Portnoy, rumit dan powerful, juga banyak mainin double bass. tapi kalo ngarep ngarepnya sih pengen nya Andrea Vadrucci atau Neil Peart (wow kalo yang nomer 2 mah rada mustahil, hahaha).

yah siapapun pengganti Portnoy nanti, semoga dia bisa jadi ‘nyawa’ dari musik Dream Theater. karena yang saya liat, Drum nya Portnoy adalah nyawa dari lagu lagu Dream Theater.

well, I have these concerts file of my favorite bands on my PC, wanna know whose concerts are those ? check this out :

Janne Da Arc

• Chaos Mode Tour 1999 (this is the concert of their indie time, Yasu was fat at this time, with chubby face, very different from Yasu at the major time, hahahah)
• Fate Or Fortune (I don’t really like this concert, I don’t know why)
• Memorial Live LIVE INFINITY 2002 at Budokan (this is the hardest one to get, my PC is never been shut down for 1 week when I torrented this file, 7 GB with 1 or 2 seeders :p)
• Danjiri Night (25.12.03) (one of the best also, they play SEVEN on this concert one of the best from JDA XD)
• Live 2006 DEAD or ALIVE-SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 05.20 (this is my second favorite of JDA’s concert, I got this concert from my friend Cakky who is a big fan of this band too)
• Tour 2005 JOKER at Budokan (CS 2005.09.14) (this is, so far that I know, JDA’s last concert before they’re gone into the hiatus, damn man, hiatus is suck)
• Live 2005 Dearly (this is simply, THE BEST JANNE DA ARC’S CONCERT EVER. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT)

L’arc en Ciel

• Carnival of True  [Osaka 1996.12.23] (this is a Laruku’s old concert, with Sakura as their drummer. well, the quality of this video file is very poor, I don’t really enjoy this awesome live due to the video quality)
• Reincarnation (first concert after Sakura left the band, and Yukihiro came to replace his place. another poor quality video, but still better than the Carnival of True, nice concert)
• 15th L’Anniversary Live (the best Laruku’s concert on my PC. 3 hours of video, very high quality, and they play almost all the hits of Laruku’s time line, from Vivid Colors through Link, awesome !)

Dir en Grey

• A Knot Of (this is a footage from Diru’s live around the world, its cool, most of it shows when Kyo is bleeding while singing, hahah !)

Acid Black Cherry

• Black List Tour 2008 (awesome concert, but I only like 1 of their song, the Black Cherry, well, I don’t really like ABC, since JDA is better :p)

X Japan

• Extacy Summit 1992 (this is one of the concert that really affect Japanese Music Scene,  X Japan and Luna Sea, who became Japanese Music’s Important Figures plays here in their indie time)
• Hide Memorial Summit 2008 (the memorial concert for their dead guitarist, hide. one of the best ever, since in the last part, Ryuuichi of Luna Sea, Tatsurou of MUCC, HIZUMI of D’espairsRay, TM Revolution, along with Toshi, singing X together. AWESOME. while J of Luna Sea, Die of Dir En Grey, along with Yoshiki, Pata, Heath and Sugizo play the Guitars and basses. and Shinya of Luna Sea on drums. along with Jasmine You and Hizaki of versailles seen on the back bringing hide’s flag, and many of the Japanese Rocks figure are there also [not playing, just dancing around])
• Dahlia Tour the Final (a nice concert, simply like that :p)
• X Last Live (I’m sad watching this concert, since it is the last concert before X’s break up)
• Hametsu ni Mukatte- Hakai no Yoru [28 March 2008] (their reunion concert, well, I don’t really like this since Toshi is a different Toshi from the old X Japan)

Malice Mizer

• Merveilles L’espace (their best concert, with gackt wearing angel wing, coming down to earth, literally)

Sepultura

• Under Siege Tour 1991 Barcelona (simply, the good, old Sepultura !! yeah ! \m/)

Metallica

• Metallica Live @ Rock am Ring 2008 (yeah ! they’re old but they’re still rock !!)

these are the concert files on my PC, what are yours ?

Malice Mizer is a Japanese Progressive Rock/Goth Rock/Symphonic Rock Band. For me, Malice Mizer is one of the most unique band on the world. They have great musicality skill. Can you Imagine, playing Beethoven’s songs on band format ? that’s what they are. they are also on of the most prominent Visual Kei artist. for ‘what visual kei is ?’ just try to google it :p

well, so far that I know, Malice Mizer live on through 3 phase. the first phase is, the Yu~Ki-Kozi-Mana-Tetsu-Kami era. its the first ever Malice Mizer’s formation. Yu~ki on Bass, Kozi and Mana on guitar, Tetsu on vocal and Kami on drums. with this formation, I really love the music, but Tetsu as a vocalist is just suck. His voice is not  that good to be a vocalist in such a good band. in this era, I love their music, its so, well I can say, its really a band. Drums, Guitar, Bass, Vocal (although it is suck), they don’t use many synthesizer, so they live performance is like, WHOA !!

the second phase is, when Tetsu leave the band. I don’t know why he left the band. but, it is a great gift for Malice Mizer, since after that, one of the most influential vocalist in Japan Music History now, joined their band (but at that time, this dude is nobody there). GACKT. thats the name of their new vocalist. Malice Mizer in this formation is considered as Malice Mizer on their golden era. they improved their music into a more progressive sound, and use more synthesizer, I don’t really like synthesizer, because on live performances, a band who use synthesizer looks suck. its like, hey they’re 5 dudes there, 2 playing guitars, 1 playing bass, 1 drumming and 1 is singing, and hey, where are those “beep beep” sounds came from !?. but for honest, I really love Malice Mizer in this formation. GACKT deep voice really blend ini Yu~ki’s complicated bass line, Kami’s amazing drumming style, and the duo of one of the best guitar duo in Japan history, Mana and Kozi. My most favorite Malice Mizer song also came from this era. it called Bel-Air (I’ll post the song right after this writing).

the last era would be the Klaha era. in this time, tragedy strokes Malice Mizer. their best drummer, one of the best drummer I’ve ever seen, passed away. they say, that Kami died in his sleep due to his sudden Brain Hemorrhage. too bad :(. GACKT left the band (some says that he leaft the band because ha can’t stand the pain of losing Kami, his best friend). and this band is on hiatus, until they found their new vocalist. Klaha. and again, their music color was changing. this time, its more dark, gothic, something like that. but still, I really love Klaha’s deep voice. its very very unique. and one of their best work, the Beast of Blood is one of my favorite song. oh yeah, for the drummer position, since all of Malice Mizer’s personnel thinks that Kami is irreplaceable, they decided not to get a new drummer, instead using an additional drummer, the name is Shue, I guess.

3. Personil Janne Da Arc bisa saya bilang gak sombong, kenapa ? belanja minuman aja, mereka bawa sampe berdus-dus ngangkut sendiri buat kru2 mereka, kru2 mereka sibuk ngedesain stage !

4. Kalo andai saja walaupun sangat sulit, Janne Da Arc konser di Indonesia, pasti pas lagu Kyuuseishu Messiah saya nyanyi paling keras… “MESSIAH !! Kannojo wa kiseki to sarete ! MESSIAH !! chikau kami ni nani wo ite ? MESSIAH !! arasoini piriodo utsu ! MESSIAH ! HER NAME IS ! JANNE D’ARC !!” atoo, pas solo piano nya lagu Vampire “Anata ni nagarete, mune ni tsume wo tate, konna ni tsurai nara, ai nante shinjinai ? wasurenarenakute, hanrenarenakute, anata no uso bada, doko made shinjiteru !?” sambil goyang2 kepala

well, this is a post about my favorite band, Janne da Arc, I made this, because one of my close friend made a post about her favorite band :p

well, its like this, the first time I met this band is like, when I was in High School. back there, I was buying a CD on a stand in a bazaar. I bought a Janne Da Arc (almost) full discography. and I started to listen to this cool band. at first, I only hear : Shining Ray, Prism and Wild Fang. it based on recommendation of a good friend of mine. well, as far as I know, from those three songs, the song that resemble Janne Da Arc most is Wild Fang, fast tempo, amazing guitar, well, I can say, it is sooo Janne Da Arc.

but soon, my interest to Japanese music is slowly gone, since I started to listen to Punk Rock music like Rancid, Sex Pistols and Old Metal music like Metallica, Motorhead etc. why ? because at that time, L’arc en Ciel was booming like crazy, I don’t like anything popular up until now, so I was not listening to any Japanese Band that time, except Sambomaster, Orange Range and FLOW. not many people know those band at that time. so, I left my collection of JDA’s songs on my Harddisk Storage.

until one day, on the fated day (I’m getting hyperbolic here), I met my current band Vocal/guitar Cakra. He asked me about Janne Da Arc things, and I gave him some of JDAs songs. and guess what, he told me that Seven and Kyuuseishu Messiah are hell of a song. and so I listened to it. and guess what ? is fuckin’ awesome !! until now, I listen to most of JDA’s Songs.

now, I have like 54 songs on my playlist, and 28 of them are JDA’s songs. hahah ! and my most favorite song from Janne Da Arc would be Black Jack. well, its an old Janne da Arc song, but I really love it, since the first time I listen into it. and I can’t get the song out of my head. yeah ! and guess what ? as a Japanese Rock Band, they dressed elegantly, not too much accessories and things.

well, thats my story with my favorite band, I dare to say that this is the best band in my ear, I really love this band, I even bought there special release of the 10th Major Anniversary of their first Major Album, D.N.A. well, I have all of their Major Albums now, the original copy of those, D.N.A, Z-Hard, GAIA, Another Story, Arcadia and Joker. and guess what ? until now, I haven’t open those albums, it still packed inside the special release thingy, and still sealed.

well, that’s the story of my favorite band, Janne Da Arc ! by the way, to bad now, they’re in hiatus, but, I keep their promise, that someday, Janne Da Arc will return as Janne Da Arc, if they have become a better musician !!
